JAIN stands for Joint Artificial Intelligence Network (www.jainprojects.com). JAIN’s belief is that anything that can be automated to support people with dementia (PwD) in maintaining their autonomy, self-reliance and quality of life will be automated by 2030.
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) for this will improve the quality of care, reduce costs, and increase the quality of life for the PwD and its close carers. Analyzing personal data from the PwD and predicting what the PwD should do can help the PwD reduce the burden of disease.
The associated mission of JAIN is to automate everything that can be automated in the near future to support people with dementia in maintaining autonomy, self-reliance and quality of life.
This mission was subsequently translated into JAIN’s day-to-day work to fully support scientific research institutes and developers in bringing affordable products for people with dementia to the global population of 50 million people living with dementia today.
This number of 50 million people will double almost every 20 years, to 82 million by 2030 and 152 million by 2050. Much of the increase will take place in developing countries. The number of people with dementia in Europe will grow rapidly from about 9.7 million in 2020 to more than 18.6 million in 2050. At the same time, in all countries, the number of people available to provide care, informal and professional carers, the decline sharply in the coming decades. In order to maintain the quality of life of people with dementia or other cognitive disabilities, smart applications must be developed to provide effective support based on artificial intelligence and make care available and keep it affordable. JAIN is happy to assist China regarding the quality of life of people with dementia and their carers.
